The World Cup, one of the biggest world's sports festival, finally began in South Africa. Since it comes every 4 years, every World Cup is special. However, there is a reason to make this World Cup more special. It is the first World Cup which is held in Africa. In 2002, the World Cup was held in Korea and Japan for the first time in Asia continent. Now, we can see the World cup from Africa!
Why do many countries try to host the World Cup? I think the biggest reason is the economic effects brought by the World Cup. Almost 60 billions of people watch the World Cup. Can you imagine how much the benefit will be by hosting the World Cup? According to Korea ministry of finance and economy, Korea made 26 trillion and 460 billion Won by the World Cup. There were tons of investments, commercials, and jobs for building stadiums etc. Moreover, It enhances the national image and create added value. South African World Cup organizers said that they expected the big economic effects. They also believe this World Cup brings enormous economic wealth as it has happened.
